Medicare Part C is a part of Medicare Advantage and is an “all-in-one” solution to Original Medicare. This means that it is offered by private companies rather than the federal government and offers all the benefits of Original Medicare, including added benefits.
It is up to you to find and compare the plans and contractors that are best for you in your area. Thankfully, it does not have to be complicated.
Because it is different from Original Medicare, Medicare Advantage varies between plans. The most common variations of these plans include:
Health Maintenance Organization (HMO)
Preferred Provider Organization (PPO)
Private Fee-for-Service (PFFS)
Special Needs Plans (SNPs)
Medicare Part C features an incredible variety of coverage options. This way, you can pick the plan and provider that works best for you.

The plans available to you depend on your area and local providers—it is up to you to search and compare plans. This does not have to be a complicated process, however. You can begin by searching the Internet for available plans and using the information to pick what is best for you.
Then check if you can join your chosen plan online by filling out an enrollment form. Upon joining, you will have to provide Medicare number and the date your coverage started.
It is illegal to go door to door or call selling Medicare directly, so do not give any personal information to anyone you do not contact yourself.
